In the 70s, the Pioggia Carnevali Spa company continued its growth path by expanding its business on the national territory and opening onto some foreign markets. The potential of fittings and pipes for the irrigation sector is considerable but it requires an ad hoc structure and its own company name to break away from the other ranges present in the company: thus CORAI SpA was established in 1974. Since its inception, Corai has been producing pipes and fittings in galvanized steel, initially only for the irrigation sector and only with the most common joints, namely the classic "Sferico Ferrari" and "Sferico Anfor" still the best-selling in Italy and well known also in the 'abroad. Then we add the "Rapid" type joint which guarantees excellent pressure resistance and is still the fastest and most economical joint system today. Subsequently, the range expands with the introduction of Bauer, Perrot and Vitaulic type couplings, all known internationally and therefore essential for the expansion of the company. To understand the vastness of the range, just think of the quantity of items available with each type of joint: first of all raw joints are always available because Corai Spa is also strong in the subcontracting to all galvanized accessories companies in the sector. In addition, pipes of different sizes are produced, for example the most common of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 m in length and 50, 60, 76, 80, 89, 100, 108, 120, 133, 150, 200 mm in diameter: all these items are available in various thicknesses to withstand any conditions of use. In addition to galvanized steel pipes, there are also already joined polyethylene pipes which are increasingly in demand in agriculture and have been very common in the mining sector for years. Finally, the very wide range of accessories such as curves of various gradations, "T" and cross fittings, pipes with deviations, caps, joints with male or female threaded socket, joints with hose connectors for classic rubber hoses and for lay flat hoses, joints with hose nozzles turned for polyethylene, flanged joints. In addition to what is listed, the customized items that are added each year to the production in the catalog must be considered.

The choice to produce joints, pipes and accessories also in stainless steel proves to be a winning one for the expansion in the food and chemical sectors, where soon the Corai brand is recognized among the best from a qualitative point of view and the company is among the most important international players. Another good choice is that of the well point: it is in fact an important and continuous market, disconnected from the territorial seasonality of irrigation and the quantities allow the company to better distribute the activity throughout the year. Also for by-pass applications, manifolds and various pressurized liquid handling systems, Corai offers the support of its technicians and supplies its most suitable products. Given the availability for customization and the wide range also available with important thicknesses, Corai's presence is also expanding in the industrial and mining sectors where the required performance and product reliability are essential. The production lines are technologically advanced and are managed by computers that guarantee quality control, high-speed production continuity and production uniformity. Workloads are also programmed, in order to best satisfy every customer request and to be able to ensure prompt delivery of standard items. The constant search for a qualitative improvement has led Corai to use only first choice materials for years and to constantly check with its technicians the mechanical characteristics of the articles produced: in fact, resistance, traction, bursting and testing are constantly carried out on the joints. , on pipes and accessories.
